Teacher of the Year The Teacher of the Year Award is given to outstanding High and Middle School teachers who have demonstrated academic excellence in the classroom, helping students to achieve above and beyond their potential. The Gulf Coast Chapter of NOBCChE invites African American teachers of science and teachers of mathematics to complete the nomination form for our “Teacher of the Year” Award. This award is given annually to African American teachers who have provided outstanding service as a teacher to students for 10 or more years. Teachers may nominate themselves and/or another teacher. An award will be given to one elementary, one middle school, and one high school science or mathematics teacher.
